Outlooks in Innovations: Food Forests

The concept of forest gardens or “food forests” is also becoming increasingly popular.

In highly industrialized nations, untouched ecosystems rarely occur, which is why most people, having grown up in industrialized societies, may have never seen a “real forest” in their lives, maybe not even on TV.

Not only is it possible to have dozens/hundreds of edible ones Harvesting plants from appropriately managed areas, but also the amount of work involved is minimal compared to standard agroforestry, while restoring the natural “layers” of the forest ecosystem, including its resilience against all natural extreme events and even climatic changes have been proven to increase.

Based on expert opinions obtained and guided by the how-to guide “The Principle Forest Garden”, we are planning to set up our first in-house field trial in 2024 to nurture and promote natural diversity, ecosystem health and animal welfare.

So, we hope, alongside so many other conservationists, to lay another small stone in the mosaic of a reassessment of the value of nature in our economic formulas as well as individual perception and hopefully better our planet´s prospects by leading by example.

In order to further adapt to coming changes, we all must place a greater focus on the basic preservation of ecosystems basic functions and health.

Attached you find some short introductions on the concept:
